A DEDICATED group of volunteers are urging residents to help keep Cheshire from becoming a rubbish place to live.
The Campaign to Protect Rural England is launching a spring-clean operation to clear the county’s roads, paths and hedges of litter and waste.
The group is also urging members of the public to nominate any ‘grot-spots’ that are causing concern.
The organisation has received funding from nationwide litter campaigns Stop the Drop and Keep Britain Tidy to enable little-pick operations to take place across Cheshire.
Press and membership officer Becca Nelson said: “Litter is a real eyesore, marring our towns, cities and countryside, and we know from talking to members of the public that it’s a priority to get it cleared up.
“We’ve received a donation of litter picking equipment, and we’d be happy to loan out the equipment to groups which have identified an area they would like to tackle.
“It’s a fantastic feeling to go out with a team of volunteers and make a real difference to your local area by clearing up all the rubbish.”
