Race raises £500

BALLOONS released from the Tesco store in Helsby raised £500 for the Frodsham and Helsby Fire Cadet’s mercy mission to Ghana.
The winning balloon which travelled the furthest distance was picked by Jane Pearson, of Runcorn, whose balloon travelled 150 miles to Skipsea Sands Holiday Park, Yorkshire.
Jane, who will win £100 gift vouchers, said: “I’m delighted to have won the gift cards. It’s great to know that I have been able to support such a good cause at the same time.”
The balloon race, which took place on Saturday, July 18, raised funds for the cadet’s trip to build a new village school.
