Pirates invade Chester in search of pasties
UNSUSPECTING shoppers and visitors in Chester received an unusual welcome when three mischievous pirates took over the streets of the city in pursuit of lost treasure.
The three Cornish pirates, Mary and Henry Killigrew and Duggery the Bosun Skull, scoured the city centre, singing sea shanties and searching for new pirate recruits to swear in and join the ‘rite of parlay’ along the way.
Brandishing treasure maps, the swashbuckling trio were asking passers-by for help to find their pirate booty, in the form of Cornish pasties.
They were directed to the West Cornwall Pasty Company shop, which opened on Northgate Street exactly a year ago.
