A WHEEL-Y lucky competition winner has collected a new bike.
Julian Guanaria, from Chester, received his bicycle after winning a Cycle Demonstration Town competition.
Julian’s name was drawn from more than 400 entries to the competition held during the Chester Race for Life, Chester family fun ride and the Liverpool to Chester cycle events.
The new bike, from the Edge Cycle Works in Boughton, was presented by David Pickering, chair of the Chester Cycle Demonstration Town steering group, and Jake Hancock from the Edge Cycle Works.
Mr Pickering said: “We’ve had a number of excellent cycling events in Chester over the past few months.
“There is still a lot more happening with the Cycle Demonstration Town project; as schools return from holiday we are continuing with the Bikeabilty training and we have more maintenance courses lined up.”
Chester is one of 17 official Cycling Demonstration Towns, securing a £2.4m bid over the next three years.
The initiative aims to improve Chester’s cycling infrastructure and cycling opportunities.
