Owl flies in to cut the ribbon at opening of complex care unit

AN owl was on hand to carry ribbon-cutting scissors at a care home.

Pinetum Care Home, at the Countess of Chester Health Park, played host to the owl, a keyboard player and violinist duo as they celebrated the arrival of a complex care unit.

Manager Tracy Simpson said: “We’ve opened a four-bedded complex care unit.

“We look after people on ventilators and dialysis, people that have more complex care at a range of ages.”

Residents enjoyed a buffet as Mark the Indian owl did the honours and swooped in with his falconer to help perform ribbon-cutting duties.
