A CHARITABLE pub is putting the fun into fundraising this weekend.
The Morris Dancer, Kelsall, is hosting a two-day fun event in aid of Claire House Children’s Hospice on Saturday and Sunday.
The pub is hoping to raise £1,500 which will go toward the £200,000 needed to keep the hospice, near Clatterbridge Hospital, Wirral, open. Proceeds go to the charity.
Attractions include a fun fair, hog roast, pony rides, face painting, coconut shy, games, scavenger hunt, treasure hunt and a silent auction for an ever growing list of unique lots.
Organiser Ruth Jones said: “We are asking people to give their skills for a day or an afternoon, which we can auction off in our silent auction.
“So far we have babysitting for a night, a builder for an afternoon, a round of golf at Frodsham Golf Club, a basket of ironing, a full car valet and the services of our award-winning chef Amador Parada for the night with a waitress – ideal for a dinner party.”
Double Olympic gold-medal winning star Rebecca Adlington, who is the sister of an organiser’s friend, has also donated a signed swim hat and goggles.
British Basketball League stars the Cheshire Jets have been invited to open the Morris Dancer event, off Chester Road.
