GM to decide today whether to sell or retain Vauxhall's Ellesmere Port plant

GENERAL Motors will make a decision later today about what it wants to do with its European operations, which includes Ellesmere Port’s Vauxhall plant.

The carmaker will be holding a press conference in Berlin between 1.30-3pm.

Speculation is rife that the carmaker will announce a dramatic U-turn and opt to retain control of its European brands, Opel and Vauxhall.

Canadian car parts firm Magna International and RHJ, a Belgium industrial group, have been the long-standing front runners to buy Vauxhall.
