Frodsham Business Centre gives new companies the perfect place to start

A BUSINESS centre in Frodsham is booking the trend for startup companies and helping to make them a success.

In the midst of a recession when many companies are closing, Frodsham Business Centre’s competitive pricing and flexible approach is helping its 16 tenants go from strength to strength.

Site owner’s Helsby and Langdon’s director Simon Langdon said: “We think the spaces are particularly suited for start up businesses. Many of our businesses have prospered and we pride ourselves as being flexible as the businesses develop and grow.

“We have 16 different companies including financial businesses, craft, two IT companies, garages, it’s very varied. There are workshops, garages and offices.”

With about 14,000 square foot of space the centre is able to accommodate start up businesses to established companies, like medhurst North West, an IT and communications support service.

Alistair Evans, 35, of medhurst North West – sponsors of Chester Hockey Club – said:

“We are an IT and communications company who provide solutions and support, specialising in small to medium businesses. Our speed of response is hugely important in the customer service business and being here has helped us get to customers more easily.”

“The centre is a mile off the motorway, which gives easy links to our catchment area and has all the advantages of Frodsham with the post office and banks, everything a business needs. It all helps. It’s pretty much perfectly placed and very competitively priced.

“We were running the North West operation but wanted to take it over, and keep the over heads reasonably low so we moved into the Frodsham Business Centre.

“After about 12 months we took on another engineer and needed to expand, then a couple of years later moved to bigger offices because we needed more space for storage.

“It was great having the freedom to move around the site, we didn’t have to change numbers or address, so as far as the customers were concerned we hadn’t moved anywhere. We needed extra room so Simon knocked the walls down, it’s indicative of their approach.

“We have customers as far as Wakefield, Preston, Crewe and North Wales, all accessible within an hour.

“We are still expanding now, we are taking on more administration staff this week and I can see before the end of the year we will be needing another engineer.”
