Celebration of success for West Cheshire College

Journalist and presenter John McCarthy with Chair of Governors Martin Seed and Principal Sara Mogel at West Cheshire Colleges HE and Professional Awards Ceremony

CHESTER Cathedral was the venue for this year’s Higher Education and Professional Awards Ceremony for West Cheshire College students who have achieved a variety of high level vocational and professional qualifications.

Awards were presented by former journalist and Beirut hostage John McCarthy to around 150 students who had achieved a range of qualifications from management and accountancy to engineering and ITC.

He said: “It’s truly impressive to see so many people here who have obviously had to make huge commitments and work hard to achieve these awards.”

College Principal Sara Mogel said: “All our HE graduates have taken courses specifically designed to meet the needs of employers across a range of fields.

“Once again our success rate is exceptionally high and these are the students who will be among the people whose skills and dedication will ensure our economy continues to thrive and grow, not just locally but nationally.”

Almost 200 people graduated from the college’s HE programmes this year, leaving with Level 4 and 5 qualifications.
