Spa breaks for pampered pooches at Combermere

A COUNTRY retreat offering spa breaks are offering extras for pampered pooches.

Combermere Abbey, near Whitchurch, is making pets welcome with a pooch pack including bowl, towel, sofa throw and dog treats.

Optional extras include a visit from local dog groomer, Kate Skeet, who tends the beauty needs of the Abbey’s own Labradors, Ecco, Zomba and Zanzi.

The award-winning, five-star cottages, converted from the original stables, sleep up to five guests each.

The 1,000-acre privatelyowned estate at Combermere provides a base for you and canine guests to enjoy long off-road walks through woodland, fields and by the 43-acre lake.

And owners need not feel left out with a range of holistic spa treatments available in the comfort of your cottage including aromatherapy and Indian Head massage and reflexology.

Owner Sarah Callander Beckett said: “As a dog owner myself I know how much a part of the family they become, and they really add to the pleasure of a relaxing break away.”
