LOCAL providers of mental health, learning disability, and drug and alcohol services are stepping up efforts to reduce their carbon footprint.

Chester-based Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP) has been accepted as a member of the Energy Savings Trust’s national initiative, Motorvate.

The scheme will measure, assess and advise best ways to improve CWP’s transport use in order to reduce carbon emissions in line with the NHS carbon reduction commitment of 10% by 2015.
