Subway staff and customers evacuated from Foregate Street store after microwave oven fire

STAFF members and customers at a Chester sandwich shop had to be evacuated after a microwave oven caught fire.

The incident happened in the Foregate Street branch of Subway at about 12.50pm today (Thursday). No-one was injured.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service attended and made the area safe before applying a positive pressure fan to ventilate the premises.
