Children from The Arches Community School’s gardening club enjoy RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park

GREEN-FINGERED pupils from The Arches Community School in Blacon enjoyed a memorable visit to this year’s RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park.

The school’s gardening club was entered into the Cheshire Schools Growing Competition with exhibits comprising mainly ‘purple’ vegetables in honour of the school’s traditional colour.

Deputy head Kath Shephard said: “After viewing our competition entry and the entries from other schools children enjoyed their day at Tatton Flower Show.

Activities included making salad dressings, making paper plant pots and planting seeds, watching television crews filming and taking part in ‘be a Victorian for a day’ workshops.
