Alive & Kicking fundraisers present cheque for £19,500 to Countess of Chester Hospital’s breast cancer unit
A GROUP of women raised more than £19,500 for charity.
Alive and Kicking is a group of 10 ladies who have or have had breast cancer.
They formed to create a calendar to raise funds for an ultra sound scanner for the Countess of Chester Hospital’s Ursula Keyes breast care unit.
The group, aged from 32 to 60-plus, met shooting the calendar.
Spokeswoman Joy Nicholls said: “We received support from local companies which meant the calendar cost nothing to produce so every penny went toward the scanner.”
The scanner is top of the range and will be able to more accurately diagnose breast disease.
Hospital fundraising officer Kate Taylor added: “We are very grateful for the money Alive and Kicking has raised.”
