National Scout and Guide Symphony Orchestra tune into orchestra course at University of Chester

YOUNG musicians of the National Scout and Guide Symphony Orchestra are tuning up for a double billing of summer concerts next week.

A week of rehearsals, trips and other activities is on the agenda for the 70 young players, all members of The Scout Association or Girlguiding UK, all gathering for this year’s orchestra course in Chester.

The seven-day course will bring together members aged 13-30 from across the UK and will be held in the University of Chester from August 2-9.

Members of the public will be able to hear the result of the young players’ efforts with a performance in Hartford’s Grange School Theatre on Friday, August 7 at 7.30pm, and in Chester Cathedral on Saturday, August 8 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £10, concessions £8, and can be purchased from the Cathedral box office.
