Chester tower blocks to be checked for fire safety following Camberwell disaster

FOLLOWING the Camberwell Tower Block fire in London, staff from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service are to visit the highest tower blocks in their area to check fire safety procedures and to provide advice to tenants.

The service has written to the chief executives of all local housing organisations with housing blocks more than six floors high to advise them that officers from the Community Fire Protection department will be starting the inspections this week.
