Sun shines on Independence Day-themed festival in Blacon, Chester

BLACON celebrated the weekend with an American Independence Day-themed event.
This year there was a samba band, Chinese lion dancers and circus performers and visitors from across Chester enjoyed the fun at Blacon High School.
The event was organised by the Blacon Festival Group, which is made up of local residents and co-ordinated by Blacon Community Trust event organiser Linda Davies, who said the day was a great success.
“The idea of an Independence Day theme went down really well,” she said.
“People were really impressed with the entertainment, in particular the Blacon High School advanced gym class, and of course the bucking bronco was really popular as well.”
