Gang pleads guilty to Cheshire farm theft spree at Chester Crown Court

EIGHT men who carried out a series of thefts of hi-tech machinery from farms across rural Cheshire have pleaded guilty to 19 offences.

The group pleaded guilty to 15 charges of theft and four of handling stolen goods at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday, and will be sentenced on September 18.

They are: Andrew Devine, of Meeanee Drive, Nantwich; Paul Edwards, of David Street, Northwich; Ben Gee, of Clifton Drive, Leftwich; Shaun Higgins, of Braemar Avenue, Northwich; Peter Illidge, of Warren Avenue, Lostock Gralam; Jamie Meredith, of Rookery Rise, Winsford; Liam McGuigan, of Hesketh Drive, Lostock Gralam and Christopher Smalley, of Fernlea Road, Marston.
