Elderly Chester woman assaulted by mugger near Overleigh Road

POLICE in Chester are appealing for witnesses following an assault that occurred near to Overleigh Road roundabout, Chester.
At around 8.30pm on Monday July 6, the victim, a 37 year old local woman, was approached from behind and assaulted, causing her to fall unconscious. As a result, she received significant injuries to her face and eye.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this assault, or who saw anyone behaving suspiciously in the area, or to anyone who has any information that may assist with their enquiry to contact DC Helen Tennyson at Chester CID on 0845 458 0000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
