Beryl Martin School of Dance, Chester, perform Dance Time 209

DANCERS from a Chester school starred on stage.
More than 130 dancers from The Beryl Martin School of Dance performed Dance Time 2009 at Queen’s Park High School.
Youngsters as young as three told the story of Wee Willie Winkie and A A Milne’s Changing Guard at Buckingham Palace and senior students performed excerpts from ballets.
Other highlights included a Spanish circle dance, a Czechoslovakian ribbon dance and a fast-moving, toe-tapping piece to Village People’s 1970s hit In the Navy.
Principal Beryl Martin has taught ballet, tap and modern dance in Chester for 56 years at Westminster Park, Newton and Broughton.
