Man bailed after assault outside Oddfellows in Chester on races day

A MAN has been bailed by Cheshire Police after a fight took place in Chester city-centre.

The 27-year-old man, from Liverpool, was arrested for assault, assaulting a police officer and a public order offence after Chester races on Saturday, June 27 at 7.10pm.

The victim of the initial assault, a 39-year-old from Chester, was left with minor injuries after the incident occurred outside Oddfellows on Lower Bridge Street.

The offender has been placed on police bail while Cheshire Police continue their investigation.

About 30,000 racegoers and revellers were in Chester for Saturday’s race meeting but police have reported a fairly peaceful evening.
