Dog owner’s joy at best in breed win
DOGS were preened to perfection at the Cheshire Show as they strutted their stuff in front of the judges.
A whole host of breeds, ages and pedigree of dog were on display. Dog owners from across the country gathered to have their pooches put to the test by the judges.
Serena Parker and partner Graham Stevens from Ince were delighted when their beagles took the top prize in their category.
Titchy-wich won best in breed and her half sister Pixy won reserve best breed.
Serena said: “It is always difficult to know how well you will do, because the judges all look for different things. We never know what is going to happen.”
Fellow beagle owner Maureen Caney, from Quarry Lane, Kelsall, was surprised and delighted when her dog Honey won the best puppy in breed competition.
Maureen said: “We are surprised because I expected my other dog, Spring Pine Misty to win, but the judge preferred Honey.
“That’s the thing, you just don’t know what can happen.”
Serena and Maureen have taken dogs to the show for years and both have judged the show so know what to expect.
