Improvements to be unveiled at Whitby Park on Friday

IMPROVEMENTS costing £25,000 to Ellesmere Port’s Whitby Park will be unveiled on Friday.

The scheme was part funded by the former Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council and WREN, which distributes money from the Landfill Communities Fund.

“The improvements include an additional piece of play equipment, new interpretation panels, new notice boards and a small section of pathway linking the wheels park to the multi games court” said Parks Development Officer Mary Lavery

“I am sure that the improvements will add further to the enjoyment of all our visitors.”

Added Richard Smith, Project Manager for WREN: “We are delighted that the works are complete at Whitby Park which will complement other improvements and hopefully allow the park to gain the Green Flag accreditation it deserves.

”We hope the improvements are used and enjoyed by groups for many years to come.”
