From 4.30pm Northgate Street, St Werburgh Street, Eastgate Street and St John Street will be closed and from 6.30pm George Street and Frodsham Street.
Thousands are expected to watch the event tonight which starts with a parade of historic bikes and trikes with riders in period dress before community safety officers, police and paramedic cycle response units take to the track from about 5.30pm.
The main event – a 1.4km circuit race which starts and finishes on Northgate Street at Chester Town Hall, racing along Eastgate Street, Frodsham Street and turning on to George Street before heading back into the city centre – starts at 7pm.
