Chester Theatretrain students take their show to the Manchester stage

TALENTED pupils from Chester and North Wales took their new show to Manchester.

Theatretrain pupils put on their production of Rhythm and Blues at The Palace Theatre on Sunday (June 14).

They performed alongside children from Theatretrain schools in Manchester, Wakefield, Leeds, Huddersfield and Bradford.

The show features the story of Motown in Act One, followed by the pupils’ own adaptation of the cult 80s film The Blues Brothers.

Some pupils from regional schools had been chosen to perform lead vocals for some of the songs.

Molly Bourne from Llangollen, Olivia Wright-Lewis from Ruabon, Zara Povey from Llay and Katy Tennant from Penley represented the Wrexham part of Theatretrain.

Sophie Clark from Llay, Mike Rhys from Connah’s Quay and Natasha Beach from Chester were the Chester soloists.

Robert Jones and Ethan Beach played the parts of Jake and Ellwood – the titular Blues Brothers.
