Frodsham mayor Geoff Bath has received a refurbished mayoral chain from DRB jewellers, Church Street, Frodsham.

NEW links have been forged in Frodsham after the mayoral chain was refurbished.

Dave Buckley of DRB Jewellers, Church Street, Frodsham, spent four weeks cleaning the expensive silver chain and adding new links so future mayors can have their names engraved on the regalia.

Recently inaugurated mayor Geoff Bath, who has been a member of Frodsham Town Council for about five years, said: “I think the chain looks excellent and Dave Buckley has done a fantastic job. It needed a new lease of life, I don’t think it has been refurbished since 1992, and it needed some new links because we were running out of space to engrave the mayors’ names.”

The hallmarked silver chain is covered with a gold gilt, it is worn by mayors at public ceremonies and each mayor has their name engraved on a link.

Mr Buckley said: ““It is the first time I have ever done a mayor’s chain. Of course it is a privilege, and it is nice that they came to me for me to do it.”
