A CYCLIST is in a serious condition after a crash on the A41 at the Backford dip.
The crash, which occurred at 2.45pm today, Thursday, June 4, opposite the Autolift Garage in Backford, involved a blue Volkswagen Passat driven by a 26-year-old Cheshire man and a male cyclist.
A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said: “The cyclist has been taken to the Countess of Chester hospital with head injuries and his condition is described as serious.”
A North West Ambulance Service spokesman said: “A man was taken to hospital with chest and neck injuries.”
The A41 Chester-bound carriageway has been closed as a result of the crash.
A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said: “Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Sgt Harrison, of Cheshire Police, on 01244 614270.”
