Authority rethink

NO APPOINTMENT is to be made by the new Cheshire West and Chester Council to the Abbeyfield (Chester) Society.
The decision follows a review by the council of Chester City Council’s membership of outside organisations.
The charity is also a housing association and a registered social landlord.
It provides sheltered accommodation for elderly people in two locations in Handbridge and Boughton, with a total of 20 residents, according to a report.
The city council was previously represented by Cllr Hugo Deynem (Con).Š
