A FORMER Chester resident has turned her hand to writing children’s books in her retirement.

Rosemary Holmes-Gull worked in education for 30 years and has now penned Imagine That: A Picture Book of Possibilities. The book has positive images and is designed to inspire and motivate children, helping them to understand that everyone has struggles and challenges.

Rosemary, now of Las Vegas, travels home to the city frequently to see family and friends. She said: “The city will always have a special place in my heart as will the village of Aldford, where I was born.”

She plans to donate some of the profits from sales of the book to Mothers Without Borders, an organisation which works with AIDS orphans in Zambia where she will travel to do volunteer work in July.

The book can be ordered on the website www.childrens imaginings.com.

TWO former Chester city councillors are to continue as trustees of the Falcon Trust.

The charity was set up to look after The Falcon in the city centre which is owned by the Grosvenor Estate.

Cheshire West and Chester Council, which has reviewed Cheshire City Council's membership of outside organisations, has agreed to appoint trustees Gwyn Cooper and Ed Jonas, both of whom have said they are willing to continue, for a 12 month interim period.

This will allow time for the new council's director for regeneration and culture, Charlie Seward, to consider future arrangements.Š

A CHESTER fire crew was called to a report of a fire involving a CCTV camera last Wednesday. The blaze occurred at The Parade, Blacon, at about 11pm.
