Four fire engines sent to barn blaze in Chester

Barn fire

CHESHIRE Fire Service were called to a barn fire in Chester this evening.

More than 40 hay bales caught fire at Churton Hayes Farm, Huntington Road, Chester, at about 5.30pm.

Green Watch Manager Jones said: "There is a bit of damage to a shed but it's not a write-off. Fortunately it was just about 40-50 hay bales which caught fire while the farmer was doing some work. We watered it down and made it safe."

Two appliances from Chester, one from Ellesmere Port and one from Tarporley attended the fire.
