Chemical leak at Broughton Industrial Estate, Bretton

TWENTY-TWO people are being treated after a chemical leak at Broughton Industrial Estate, Bretton.

Fire crews from Deeside, Wrexham and Chester attended the incident after a report of a chemical leak at Alan’s Skip Hire was received at 10.17pm yesterday.

Two appliances from Deeside, the incident response unit, the environmental protection unit, an appliance from Wrexham and an appliance from Chester went to the scene, as well as four ambulances.

Twenty-two casualties were treated at the scene, suffering from breathing difficulties, eye infection and vomiting.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service are advising residents of nearby properties to close windows and stay indoors.
