Blacon High School gains Investors in People award for second year running

A CHESTER school has been recognised for investing in its teachers.

Blacon High School, Melbourne Road, Blacon, has gained an Investors in People (IiP) standard for the second year running.

The standard is a business improvement tool designed to advance an organisation’s performance through its staff.

Deputy headteacher Dean Poselthwaite said: “IiP is a national award that sets a level of good practice for training and development of staff to achieve the goals of the organisation.

“Retaining the standard was one of the key objectives of the school improvement plan.

“We've been through a thorough assessment process since our last accreditation, which has involved an assessment as well as interviews of staff members from the IiP accreditation team.

“We are very proud to have been able to achieve the accreditation for a second time, this shows our school’s total commitment to providing the best training and development possible for our staff which has a positive impact on the level of teaching our students receive.”
