Cheshire Police force entry into premises on Old Hall Place in Chester to find nobody at home

POLICE forced entry to a house in Chester this morning (Thursday, April 23) after receiving a distress call from neighbours.

Officers were called to the residence on Old Hall Place, off Commonhall Street, at 9am due to the sound of an alleged disturbance coming from inside.

Two police cars and paramedics attended the scene only to find the house to be empty.

Officers used an ‘enforcer’ battering ram to open the front door.

The entry triggered the burglar alarm and a search of the premises revealed the occupants of the premises were no longer there.

Police spokeswoman Shelley Williams said: “We had a call from concerned neighbours who heard noises of a disturbance.

“Police could not get any response from the occupants so due to concern for them, officers forced entry to the premises using an enforcer. Nobody was there.”

Contractors, working on behalf of the police, will repair the door that had been forcefully removed from its hinges.
