Chester Queen’s School girl wins place in national brass band

A TALENTED young musician has secured a place in a national band.

Baritone player Áine Jackson, 15, of Chester is to join the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain following an audition last November at Salford University.

Áine, a pupil at Chester’s Queen’s School said: “It will be a great opportunity to play with other young people at a high standard.”Š

Áine started playing the baritone when she was 10 and has recently sat her Grade 8 examination.

Prior to that she played the cornet.

Áine plays in the school senior orchestra and with the Cheshire Youth Band.
