Four arrested after police officer dragged along by car in Chester

FOUR people have been arrested after a police officer was dragged along by a car he had stopped in Bache, Chester.

The people arrested were a 23-year-old man from Tarvin Road, Chester, an 18-year-old woman from Ellesmere Port, a 24-year-old man from Blacon and an 18-year-old man from Downswood Court, Chester.

The officer was taking a routine stop check of a vehicle at 2.20pm on Saturday, March 28.

A police spokeswoman said: “On speaking to the occupants of the vehicle, he reached into the car to turn off the ignition, at which point the driver began to drive off, dragging the officer some distance.

“The officer has not suffered serious injuries, namely cuts and grazes.”
