Motorcyclist who died in collision near Whitchurch was off duty policeman

A MOTORCYCLIST killed when his bike collided with a Jeep on the A49 at Willey Moor was an off duty policeman.

Alan Brady, 49, of Urmston, Manchester was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision shortly after 10.35am on Sunday.

His red Honda Fireblade was travelling towards Whitchurch when it hit a black Jeep driving in the opposite direction towards Tarporley.

Mr Brady was an officer in Greater Manchester Police.

His family and friends paid a moving tribute, saying: "Alan died doing what he loved.

"He lived his life to the full and crammed 100 years into his 49.

"This was a terrible tragedy in which a much loved man had been taken from his family and friends. Police are appealing for witnesses. Contact the specialist investigation unit at Crewe on 01244 613328.”
