Chester man sent to prison after beating up taxi driver

A MAN was jailed after he admitted racially assaulting a taxi driver.

Daniel Lee Roberts, 22, of Cliveden Road, Chester, was sent to prison for 20 weeks after he pleaded guilty to beating Khalid Javed on Christmas Eve last year.

Appearing before Chester Magistrates on February 13, Roberts was given the custodial sentence due to the attack on the taxi driver being described as nasty, unprovoked and accompanied by racial taunts.
