BBC star Dianne Oxberry swims with sharks at Ellesmere Port’s Blue Planet Aquarium for Comic Relief

A TELEVISION presenter threw herself in at the deep end to raise cash for Comic Relief.

Dianne Oxberry, weather forecaster for BBC North West Tonight, dived into shark-infested waters at the Blue Planet Aquarium in Ellesmere Port on Wednesday.

She smashed her £2,000 fundraising target by more than £600, and that total is still rising.

The aquarium is home to one of Europe’s largest collection of sharks including lemon, nurse, and black and white tip sharks, along with an 11-foot sand tiger shark called Wilma.

This year’s Comic Relief theme is “Do Something Funny for Money”.
