Plan to extend village home by more than 40% in Ashton Hayes, Chester

NEIGHBOURS objected when plans were put forward to extend a village home by more than 40%.

The two-storey and single-storey extension was proposed by Mrs King and Mr Butcher at the rear of 4 Church Court, Ashton Hayes. A conservatory would also be demolished.

Neighbours said that when the two-storey house was originally built its size was limited.

Chester City Council planning officers said guidelines now seek to limit house extensions to about a 30% increase in floorspace. The application would enlarge the home by more than 40% but they said this would only have a limited effect on the area. They recommended the application be approved.
