Swimmers raised money to help Helsby High School pupil Callum Teasdale reach the World Transplant Games 2009

SWIMMERS completed 2,000 lengths to raise money for a Frodsham teenager hoping to represent Great Britain at the World Transplant Games this year.

The event was organised to raise money for Helsby High pupil Callum Teasdale, 13, of Fluin Lane, Frodsham.

The keen swimmer had a life-saving liver transplant at the age of two and needs to raise £5,000 to compete at the games in Australia in summer.

Callum’s mum Adele said: “It went really well, everybody enjoyed it. We had 10 families and a few extras as cover who took part.

“We were aiming for 200 lengths in six hours but totalled about 2,000.”
