Cannabis worth £300,000 recovered from police raid on Malpas farm

CANNABIS with a street value of £300,000 has been recovered after a police raid on a Malpas farm.

Officers executed a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at Woodhouse Farm, Oldcastle, on Friday (January 16).

They uncovered a cannabis farm with a full hydroponic growing set-up.

A 34-year-old man from Manchester was arrested and bailed until February 26.

Sergeant Andy Smith, of Western division Neighbourhood Policing Unit, said: “Criminals from urban areas, who are involved in the production and supply of illegal drugs, misguidedly believe that isolated rural locations can provide a good cover for their activities. They are wrong. We are always working hard to gather intelligence and disrupt their illegal business, and we shall continue to do so.”
