Police try to trace relatives of Polish man killed in Cheshire

POLICE are trying to trace the next of kin of a Polish man who died after a car accident.

The 25-year-old, who was believed to be living in the Crewe area, died after he was involved in a collision with two other vehicles shortly after 6pm on Sunday (January 4).

He was driving his red BMW over the Haslington bypass towards Sandbach when he collided with a white articulated lorry and blue Volkswagen Lupo travelling in the opposite direction.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “He had separated from his partner, with whom he had a three-year-old son.

“We believe this woman is now living with relatives in the Haslington or Winterley area and we need her to get in touch as soon as possible.”

Sgt Ian Holley, who is leading the investigation, is also keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the accident or saw either the BMW or the lorry prior to the incident and he can be contacted on 01244 613328.
