Crimes falls by a third in Chester in December

A CRIME review from Cheshire Police reveals that violent crime in Chester fell by almost a third in December.

The overall results from the Outer NPU area - which includes Blacon, Saughall, Upton, Boughton Heath, Vicars Cross, Hoole, Lache, Handbridge, Curzon Park, Westminster Park and Saltney - show a reduction of 16.6% total for all crime for the month against the target set.

Cheshire Police have also reported particular improvements within the following areas:

BLOB Violent offences have decreased by 32.9% with a current detection rate of 38.8%,

BLOB Burglaries have decreased by 11.1% ,

BLOB Vehicle crime has decreased by 12.2%. However, Curzon and Westminster Park had a significant increase in theft from motor vehicles.

BLOB Criminal damage offences have decreased by 33.7%.
