GUEST of honour at Upton Village Hall’s 80th birthday celebrations was a man who was around before the place was built.
Frank Whaley, 89, sang at the opening of the Heath Road in 1928 as a member of the local Sunday school choir.
The hall committee organised a celebration dinner to mark the anniversary which was also attended by Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr Brian Bailey and Lady Mayoress Raewyn Bailey.
