THE generosity of kind-hearted Chronicle readers has brought Christmas joy to hundreds of desperate children.
Thanks to the amazing response to this year’s BiG Storage - Chronicle Make a Real Difference Gift Appeal, children facing hardship throughout the area will receive an extra special gift this year.
Among those to benefit from the appeal are several children from Blacon’s Dee Point Primary School.
The gifts were hand-delivered by members of the BiG Storage Cheshire Jets and presented to delighted deputy headteacher Sharon Wyatt, who will then pass them on to the children.
Ms Wyatt said: “Thanks to the public’s generosity these wonderful children will have a better Christmas.
“All of them truly deserve something special to look forward to. These children and their families would never seek this support themselves but I know just how grateful and appreciative they will be for the effort people have made.”
Local homelessness charity, Save the Family, has also benefited from the campaign. The organisation provides emergency accommodation, training and support to homeless families from throughout the area.
Andrew Donaldson, of BiG Storage, added: “Once again we’ve been amazed with the generosity of the public. Despite these trying economic times, people have really dug deep to help those in need and I thank each and every one of them.”
