THE family of a 24-year-old Tattenhall man left fighting for his life after being hit by a car have paid tribute to the medical staff who they say saved his life.
In May, Michael Brown, 24, of Chester Road, Gatesheath, near Tattenhall, was hit by a car while walking to work half a mile from his home.
Steve Brown, Michael’s father, said: “Michael was not expected to survive the accident having suffered a very serious brain injury.
“But for the skill of the medical staff, Michael would not have survived and having been given the gloomiest of forecasts for his future, his recovery is nothing short of miraculous.
“His mother Sally, sister Jenny and I would like to publicly thank the paramedics, the hospital staff at the intensive care units at the Countess of Chester and Hope Hospital, Salford, the Neurological Unit, Wirral House, at Clatterbridge, for their dedicated care and the police for the sensitive way in which they handled the case.
“An extra special thank you is also deserved for Michael’s girlfriend Bev, and his wonderful friends who have continued to visit and support him.”
Matthew Green, aged 36, of Church Bank, Tattenhall, was convicted of driving without due care and attention and banned from driving for two years and fined £800.
