Fans queue up for Nigella book signing

NIGELLA Lawson paid a flying visit to the area this week during a book signing tour.

Customers queued around the aisles in Borders, Cheshire Oaks, to meet the domestic goddess, who was there to promote her latest book Nigella Christmas.

The store was one of only six nationwide chosen for the book signing tour, with some fans queuing for over two hours for a chance to meet her.

There were quite a few men lining up to see the famous cook and buy the book for their wives, girlfriends or mums.

One lady bought so many copies that she needed help from staff to carry away the tower of signed books she had bought for her friends and family.

Talkative Nigella chatted with customers for 1½ hours, offering recommendations and sharing cooking tips.

She shared her favourite recipes from the book – including Christmas Rocky Road and Loaded Potato Skins – and she had a smile for everyone.

When asked if maintaining a smile for so long was difficult, she replied: “Well, I’ve always thought that smiling is supposed to be so much better for you than frowning!”
