Helsby father at trial of man accused of savage attack on teenage daughter

A HELSBY father has been hearing how his teenage daughter was subjected to a frenzied and savage knife attack.
Richard Knight, of Newfield Terrace, Helsby, accompanied by his wife Stefanie, has been attending the trial of Kristopher Beddar, the French national who is on trial in Preston Crown Court for the attempted murder of Jessica Knight, now 15.
Beddar, 21, of Daisy Hill Drive, Adlington, Chorley, who denies a charge of attempted murder, claims to have no recollection of the attack, which happened in January.
The trial, which began on Monday, is on its final day but Jessica’s family may have to wait until next week for the verdict.
