Frodsham man cleared of rape and assault charges

A FRODSHAM man who had been accused of raping, assaulting and threatening to kill a woman was acquitted at Chester Crown Court on Friday.

Ravinder Singh Waraich, aged 24, of Langdale Way was found not guilty on all four counts, two of rape, one of threatening to kill and another of assault occasioning actual bodily harm after a five day trial at the court.

The complainant had claimed the offences had taken place between November 2007 and April 2008, but Waraich had always maintained his innocence.
