Pregnant woman hurt in A51 crash

TWO women, one elderly, the other pregnant, were involved in a crash that closed the A51 for three hours last night (Wednesday, November 19) .

Police, ambulance and fire crews were called to the junction between the A51 and the A49 at the Red Fox at 7.20pm after reports of a crash between two cars.

On arrival they found a blue Toyota Corolla and a red Rover had collided at the junction.

The 73-year-old driver of the Corolla and a pregnant passenger in the Rover were taken to Leighton Hospital to be checked out by medical staff. All three people involved in the crash suffered minor cuts and bruises.

The road was re-opened at 10.30pm after the cars and debris had been removed from the road.
